30 days of creativity – Day 18 – It seems I am a fucking hippy

30 day creativity challenge Day  18, Glastonbury Tor

It seems I might be a fucking hippy after all. Sitting on top of Glastonbury Tor makes me feel good. Apart from when some wanker comes along and inflicts us all with his musical instrument, then the kill instinct comes out good and strong and I feel more like myself.

My son joined in today by racing round taking pictures.

The first sketch was of the field opposite where I was sat in the shade trying to filter out screaming children and happy fucking bastard families.

This is what it really looked like, though the camera’s perspective is different to mine. I think I was higher up. I was playing with concentrating on shadows more than anything.

Then I thought I was being a bit wishy washy with my line so I got out a Sharpie and drew the next field along. This was good fun to do and looked better before I tried to shade it with a fineliner.

Lastly today was a sketch of people sitting on the hill next to the church on top of the Tor. I get so far with a sketch then I’m scared to put in detail in case I mess it up. Seems to be a bit of a block.

These are some of the pictures my son took, before we went down the hill and got some spring water, like the fucking hippies we are.

No Haiku today, not in the mood.

You can see the reason this started and the rest of the days here – http://www.ragbaby.co.uk/1120-2/

And if you want to join in we have a Facebook group – https://www.facebook.com/groups/154085144775381/
Over on Crackbook a bunch of us are going to be working through Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain: A Course in Enhancing Creativity and Artistic Confidence

The first exercises are to draw a self portrait, your hand and something else I can’t remember so you can see improvement. Then you move onto drawing a vase from a silhouette. You can see the vase exercise here – http://drawright.com/vaceface.htm.

The plan is to do an exercise every Sunday from the book.
