When I collected my son from school today I had to tell him that the cats were fine, no matter what it looked like.
This idea came about after a drunken conversation with a friend, we know how to have fun.
It was started with a hangover and is not yet finished. There are some mighty fine cat mummys in Bristol museum and I need to go up there and look at them to work out the next step.
It’s fiberglass (I had some of the rolls of stuff they use to fix broken legs), papier mache, newspaper, silver foil, masking tape and dust sheet ripped up and stained in coffee and tea.
It’s not dry yet so I’m not sure how it will look in the end, it should have some painting on it too but I may just give up at that point. It will live next to Nick Drake, the stuffed duck.

Over on Crackbook a bunch of us are going to be working through Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain: A Course in Enhancing Creativity and Artistic Confidence
The first exercises are to draw a self portrait, your hand and something else I can’t remember so you can see improvement. Then you move onto drawing a vase from a silhouette. You can see the vase exercise here – http://drawright.com/vaceface.htm.
The plan is to do an exercise every Sunday from the book.
